The women in the Jiguiya Group are married and have an average age of 30 and four children. They live in traditional polygamous households in Kéléya located 100 kilometres from Bamako (the capital of Mali) in the Bougouni Prefecture (the third administrative region of the republic of Mali).

They know each other through their neighbourly ties and they sell various items. They are on their fifth group loan with Soro Yiriwaso and all of their previous loans have been repaid correctly.

They stock up twice a month at the Kéléya market where they sell from stalls and as street traders.

With this loan they plan to buy 25 boxes of soap, 400 litres of honey and 500 kilogrammes of various condiments.

They hope to make an average monthly income of 32,000 FCFA that will be used to pay back the loan and contribute to family expenses.
