Elena Vallejos Fernandez

Elena has two children. She is 38 years old. She and her husband have been dairy-cow farmers for many years. They waited several years before they began having children because Elena was in poor health. After they were able to have their first child, they felt like their lives were complete. Elena and her husband then began constructing a small mill, where her husband, Carlos, produces cattle feed for their livestock and sells the remainder at the Huaña Cahua market.

After her children overcame illnesses, Elena enrolled them in a local school. After school each day, the children help Elena and Carlos by tending to the livestock. The older child also helps Elena's husband with the mill, making cattle feed for their livestock.

With this loan, Elena hopes to grow and expand her production of cattle feed so that they can build a reputation among other livestock farmers for their great product. This way, they can increase their sales and their earnings.
