Zainabu Kimandili

Mambo (Greetings!) from Tanzania! This is 48-year-old Zainabu A. Kimandili from Morogoro. She is married with six children between the ages of 20 and 27. Additionally, she is responsible for supporting two dependents because they are orphans.

Zainabu has been running a cereal sales business since 2009, selling rice, wheat flour, maize and sorghum. She works at her business for eleven hours per day, six days per week and no one is assisting her.

Zainabu is requesting a loan of TZS 300,000 in order to purchase additional stock for her business. In the future, she plans to increase the quantity and range of her stock. She thanks you for your support!

Customs and traditions in Tanzania make it difficult for women to own land and assets, thus they are termed non-creditworthy by financial institutions. This leads to poor financial support and poor access to basic needs and services for women with low incomes.
