Rose is a 29-year-old single mother with an 8-year-old son. For the last four years, she has run a business supplying wrapping paper, plastics, and old newspaper. Her customers include businesses like butcheries, retail shops, and take-away food kiosks. She is requesting a loan of 20,000 KES to purchase more stock to deliver direct to wholesalers.
Rose describes herself as very ambitious and hardworking and says that since joining Kiva partner Faulu she has become more knowledgeable about business matters and a better saver. In the future, she hopes to buy a pick-up truck to deliver her products to wholesalers in Kericho and bring food items in return. She would also like to build a flat to rent out for extra income.
