“If you work, you will live. If you have patience, you will succeed.” This a word of encouragement shared by Mr. Arnel Calamanan of Barangay Curifang in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. He is married to Mrs.Vicky Calamanan and they are blessed with two children, Aji Calamanan and Amiel Calamanan. The eldest is now in secondary school while the youngest is in elementary school. The parents endure hardships and difficulty to earn a living for the sake of their children.
As a way of gaining income, Arnel uses his jeepney to provide taxi services. His wife has chosen to work as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Malaysia. Arnel earns a net income of Php 300 daily, which he uses to provide for their basic needs and the needs of their children. Since his income is not sufficient to meet their daily needs, he wants to borrow Php 5,000 from Kiva lenders to repair his jeepney so that he can use it every day. He hopes that, with this financial assistance, his daily income will increase.
