Marlon Rivas is 31. He and his wife, the cook, have been selling food for two years. He started with his own funds from his work as a bricklayer. They cook soups in big kettles and solid food, which they sell to the people working on construction projects. They give their customers credit until payday because it is stable income. They have two children, eight and twelve. The children are in elementary school.

Their wish is to be able to give their children a good education. They did not finish their education because of their parents’ lack of economic resources. He lives in the Sierrita de Santo Domingo neighborhood.

With this loan he will buy a large pan to prepare the food. They will also buy basic grains, meats, vegetables, and fruits to make the refreshments. In the future, he wants to set up a covered patio where they can cook. Now they cook on a burner on the patio, and this is difficult on winter days. Also, they would like to be able to get new customers and to sell more to improve their income. One of the problems they have is that sometimes their customers do not pay them because their customers have not received their pay. This is due to the lack of funds in the economic crisis that is occurring in the country.

He is grateful to Afodenic for the loan he was given. He expects to pay it back on time and in the agreed upon manner.
