Karmen is a young Palestinian women living in Bethlehem; she is married with two young children.
She has newly opened a grocery store to help her husband to have better income for the family. Her husband has an olive wood workshop; this workshop has been a family business for thirty years, and he inherited the skill and the workshop from his father). He makes a lot of souvenirs out of olive wood for tourists visiting Bethlehem, in addition to selling them to wholesalers who export these products to the USA and Europe.
Karmen has requested two thousand US dollars as a loan from FATEN for two things, first to enhance her newly opened grocery store, and also to buy olive wood for her husband's workshop.
