Aged 47, married and mother to 5 children, Mrs. Kassipin Traoré lives in a polygamous family with her co-wife, her husband and their children in the Hamdallaye quarter of the Koutiala prefecture, (Sikasso Region). Mrs. Kassipin did not have the chance to go to school much. She very quickly became interested in moneymaking activities that she learnt from her mother. After twenty years experience in the business, she is well known in her sector.

In order to keep her customers satisfied with quantity and quality, she did not waste any time in approaching the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso three years ago. After 4 solidarity loans (group loans) and one individual loan, all repaid correctly, she is on her second individual loan.

This loan will allow her to buy a large quantity of miscellaneous items in Lomé (the capital of Togo). She makes her sales door-to-door and in the street, and her customers are both male and female, paying by cash or on credit.

By increasing her turnover, she will make a monthly income of 75,000 FCFA which she will use to pay her income taxes, put towards the daily household expenses and invest the remainder in her business.
