Amina Barungi's Group

Amina is married with five children between the ages of 11 and 23. The profits she makes every week help to take care of her family plus to pay her children’s school fees. She works hard to ensure that all her children become educated to the University level for self-sustenance.

She started out as a farmer, selling her produce directly from her garden, but now has the opportunity of selling to the general market at a much higher price. Over the years, she has been able to create a large customer base, and in the future, Amina would like to be able to transport her produce to Kampala using her own truck, although she does not own one at the moment. She needs a loan to be able to increase her capital for more income.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
