Mujeres Capacidadas Group 4

Adargisa is the group coordinator for Banco de Esperanza (Bank of Hope) Mujeres Capacitadas (Qualified Women). Her story is representative of the others in her group and more generally of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican clients. Adargisa lives in a rural area in the province of Puerto Plata with her husband and two children. Her community has unreliable access to running water (not potable), electricity and trash service.

Adargisa has four years of experience in running a cafe in her community. This is her fourth loan with Esperanza. She will use it to buy supplies and food for her cafe. She hopes to continue to grow her business so that she can have a larger cafe. Adargisa says that her life has changed quite a bit since her first loan with Esperanza. She has not only been able to provide for her family, but has also grown spiritually. She thanks you for your support!



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Learn more
