Lam Nou, age 51 and his wife Chanthoeun Phan, age 50, were married in 1989 and have five children. The eldest son is a construction worker, three are in school and another is young. The family is living in a small village off of National Road number Two, about twenty kilometers south of Phnom Penh.
Lam and his wife has been selling mats for six years. They buy from the nearby district and sell at other province far from their house such as Takeo province, Kampong Speu province and so on.
Lam hopes to expand his business so he can generate much income. Therefore, he is asking for his first loan of $300 to purchase more mats to resale.
