CAMINO AL ÉXITO (Road to Success) COMMUNAL BANK

Rubi Dolorier is engaged in the making and repair of clothing. She began learning this skill at a very young age. Then, when her children were born, it was necessary to work and help with the family expenses; so she put into practice what she had learned. She began making repairs to clothing that was taken to her house and, after some time, began making and selling clothes for her friends and neighbors. Since Rubi already has experience in this field she is teaching other members so that they are able to have extra income for their households. She is the president of the Communal Bank.

The treasurer is Constantina Palpa. For 10 years, she has had a shop. She began her business selling on an itinerant basis. This was a very difficult situation until the municipality provided an area where all the itinerant businesses could establish themselves. It was there that she acquired a stall and put in her shop, the business that she has operated until now, but that is not all she does. In her free time, Constantina crochets bags. She learned this in a market where she brought yarn for weaving. She makes different types of bags, and now she and other persons have the opportunity to export these to Mexico and Venezuela.

Orfelinda operates her business according to the season. In the summer, she sells cold drinks. In the winter she sells hot chocolate or mate. She is the group’s secretary.

All are responsible and consider themselves fortunate because by means of honorable work they can offer their families the necessities of life. They need this loan in order to continue investing in their businesses.
