Danzanhorol Batbayr

Danzanhorol Batbayar is 44 years old and lives with his wife and two sons in the Arkhangai province of central Mongolia. He and his family live together in a ger (a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent). His youngest son currently attends a local secondary school. Batbayar operates a dairy trading business in his town. He started his business 12 years ago with a working capital of 50,000 tugrugs (~35 USD) and has built a stable operation over the years. Today, he is well established in the local business community and attributes his success to his strong customer base, communication skills and good accounting practices. Batbayar also has many reliable suppliers, many of whom sell exclusively to him. Today, his working capital exceeds 1,000,000 tugrugs (~700 USD). Still, Batbayar hopes to own his own workspace which will allow him to serve more customers. He is requesting a 500,000 tugrug (~350 USD) loan, which he will use to purchase more dairy products for his business.
