Sanyazbek Hurmetbek

Sanyazbek Hurmetbek operates a grocery in his town. He started in the grocery business in 1999, selling goods in partnership with his older brother. The two built a stable operation and made much progress with their business. However, in 2006, Hurmetbek used his earnings to start his own grocery. With his past experience and knowledge of the trade, he was quickly able to establish a good position in the local business community. Hurmetbek purchases and transports his products from both Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, and China. He is always focused on the future and dreams of one day opening a grocery trading center. Hurmetbek is requesting a 2,000,000 tugriks loan to import grocery products from China.

Hurmetbek is 36 years old and lives with his parents, wife and two children in Bayan-Ulgiy province in western Mongolia. He and his family live together in a ger, a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent. Both his daughter and son, ages 14 and 9, attend a local secondary school.
