Mercy Mahognay

Mercy Mahognay is from the village of Zone 2, Tumpagon, Cagayan de Oro City. She is 30 years old. Mercy is married and has three school-aged children. To make a living, Mercy runs a food stall. The main source of income for the business comes primarily from selling specialty food products such as viand (tasty dishes) in the local community. Mercy has been engaged in her business for over five years and earns approximately 2,500 Philippine pesos a month for these activities.

In 2008, Mercy joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Mercy has successfully repaid a previous loan of 11,000 PHP from HSPFI. Mercy is requesting a new loan of 13,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase new items to expand her product offering. This loan will be the fourth loan taken out by Mercy from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement the income of her family.
