Carolina

Our client is Carolina. She is part of a communal bank consisting of 15 neighbors who live in Ccorao, a town 30 minutes from Cusco. The group is called Reynita de Belen de Ccorao, named after a virgin of Peru. She is from Ccorao. She is 48 years old and married with three children who are studying.

She sells grains like quinoa, wheat, etc., in Huacaro and San Jeronimo, two areas of Cusco. She buys grains from wholesalers in San Jeronimo and communities in Pisaq. She sells approximately 150 soles worth of goods every week, which equates to $52 each week. She has been working with Arariwa, a Kiva partner, for six years and feels that Arariwa helps her and her family.
