Monica

Monica is thirty-nine years old. She is married and has given birth to three children, all of whom are in school. Monica lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a busy commercial and farming community in the Brong Ahafo Region called Goaso. She is a trader; more specifically, Monica trades in charcoal. She supplies charcoal to retailers and food vendors in her community. She also travels to other communities to supply them with charcoal. Monica buys her bags of charcoal from charcoal burners in nearby towns. Monica has been in business for eight years and wants a loan, which she will use to buy bags of charcoal in bulk.
