Afia

Afia is a 45-year-old woman. She is married and a mother of five kids. Four of her children are in school in their local community. Her husband, she says, is very supportive in helping her taking care of the kids. She is a food vendor and sells kenkey in her neighborhood. Kenkey is prepared from milled maize grains, cooked and eaten with hot pepper and fried fish. She has many customers since many Ghanaian people enjoy kenkey for breakfast, lunch and supper. She wants to use the loan to buy more raw materials like bags of maize, meat, fish, vegetables and firewood. She hopes to raise more income to support her children, especially in their education.
