Francisco Javier Noguera Oreamuno is 34 years old and has been living in the community of Canalete for 8 years. Located in the province of Alajuela, the community lies in a semi-mountainous region where the main economic activities are agriculture and livestock breeding. It is a community that has great opportunity for development and establishment of micro-enterprises in both agribusiness and commercial trade.

For the past 10 years, Don Francisco has been dedicated to woodwork but only started his own business approximately one year ago. He builds furniture in different designs and for different uses. Since starting his business, he says the results have been good and his work is widely accepted in the community. The revenues he has generated have helped to support his family.

At the moment, Don Francisco is requesting a loan of 680,000 colones to buy a sander, an edging machine, wood, and other materials needed for making furniture. He hopes to continue growing as a micro-entrepreneur so that he can generate more income to improve his living conditions.

Don Francisco is a member of the Community Credit Enterprise of Canalete, one of 100 partner organizations that make up EDESA in Costa Rica. This will be his first loan and he hopes to continue growing personally and financially. He is an active participant of his local credit organization.
