Maribel is a perseverant and active person that fights for her ideals. She lives in the Señor de los Milagros hamlet, located at kilometer 21 of the Torna highway in the district of Campo Verde in the Ucayali region. She is 30 years old and is the mother of three young children. She is involved in the raising of chickens and has a shed (or coop) to raise these birds. Maribel also has the support of her husband who is involved in agriculture.

She has been a member of the “Mi Señor de los Milagros” communal bank for the past year. The first loan that she received was for 300 PEN, which she invested in the purchase of candy to sell on her house’s sidewalk.

Maribel currently needs a loan of 1000 PEN, which she will use to invest partly in balanced feed for the chickens that used to be sold in her local market, and she will invest the other portion in the supplies to make “juanes” (rice wrapped in leaves) and noodles that she will sell at night in her house. Maribel’s goal is to have a well set up restaurant.
