The four women of the group Soutoura are all married and average 36 years of age and 4 children.  The women live for the most part in monogamous families in Hamdallaye, a district of Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of Mali). These group members are collaborating with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to satisfy the needs of their customers and are now on their ninth solidarity loan.  All the past loans have been repaid.

They operate diverse businesses, including selling oranges, sugar, milk, onions, and smoked fish.  With this new loan, they intend to buy 20 baskets of oranges, 50 kg of sugar, 50 kg of milk, 5 sacks of onions, and 8 boxes of smoked fish.  These goods are gotten at the Sikasso City market and neighboring towns and are sold retail at different markets of Sikasso and in the different districts.  The customers are composed of men and women, most of whom pay in cash.

The group members each envision realizing an average monthly profit of 11,500 francs CFA.  A portion of the profits will be used to repay the loan, and the other portion will be invested in the businesses.

The women have the ambition of obtaining larger  loans in order to satisfy their customers more.
