Ruth Mateus Nhancula

Ruth Nhacula was born in Mahena in the Province of Inhambane. She is 51 years old, married and the mother of six children, aged 11, 16, 20, 28, 29 and 31 years. Of these, the three youngest go to school. She got her grade eight and was unable to continue with her studies due to financial conditions. She lives in her own house with her family and two of her husband's relatives.

She left Inhambane in 1980 with her husband to look for work. She lived in a rented house after getting married. She began construction work on her own house (which is still under construction) where she presently lives with her family in the district of Boane.

She has been a businesswoman for 14 years. She learned to do this with friends from the neighbourhood where she lives. She has no employees. Each month she manages to get an income of about 15,000 MT. From this amount she manages to save some with her friends through a traditional savings system (Xitique).

She has never worked with other credit institutions. She got to know about Hluvuku through Mr. Francisco Zandamela, one of the clients of this institution. This is her fourth loan with Hluvuku in the amount of 20,000 MT, with which she plans to buy sand, stone, cement and other items. The previous loans were for 10,000 MT, 15,000 MT and 20,000 MT, all for the same purpose.

In the future, she would like to ask for more loans from this institution in order to finish her construction work and purchase furniture for the house.

Ruth Nhacula nasceu em mahena, na província de Inhambane, de 51 anos de idade, casada e mãe de 6 filhos de 11, 16, 20, 28,29 e 31 anos de idade, destes os 3 últimos vão à escola. Fez 8ª classe e não foi possível continuar com os estudos devido à falta de condições financeiras. Vivem na casa própria com a família mais 2 parentes do marido.

Saiu de Inhambane em 1980 com o seu marido a procura de emprego. Vivia numa casa alugada depois de casamento, começou com a obra de construção da sua própria casa (ainda em construção), onde vive actualmente com sua família no distrito de Boane.

Ė negociante há 14 anos, aprendeu esta actividade com suas amigas do bairro onde vive não tem trabalhadores, por mês consegue um rendimento de cerca de 15.000.00MT. Deste valor conseguem poupar algum com as amigas através do sistema tradicional de poupança (Xitique).

Nunca trabalhou com outras instituições de credito, conheceu a Hluvuku através do senhor Francisco Zandamela, um dos Clientes desta instituição. Este é o seu 4º empréstimo na Hluvuku no valor de 20.000.00MT com o qual pretende comprar areia, pedra, cimento e outros. Os empréstimos anteriores foram de 10.000.00MT, 15.000.00MT e 20.000.00MT todos para a mesma actividade.

No futuro gostaria de solicitar mais empréstimos a esta instituição para a conclusão da sua obra e comprar mobiliário da casa.
