Uldarico Toledo

Uldarico J. Toledo is a 45-year-old married man from the village of Bliss, Aurora Zamboanga del Sur, in the Philippines. He has 4 school-age children. To earn a living, Uldarico owns and operates a business venture in the food sector. Specifically, he runs a "carenderia" -- i.e., a mini restaurant. At the carenderia, his income is primarily derived from serving a variety of different meals to customers from his local community. Uldarico has been engaged in this business for over 2 years, and he earns approximately 5,500 PHP per month from these activities.

In 2008, Uldarico joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services and to thereby help improve his living situation as well as his ability to engage in business activities. Notably, Uldarico has already successfully repaid a previous loan from GDMPC in the amount of 20,000 PHP, which was used to purchase additional inventory and for working capital. Uldarico is now requesting a new loan in the amount of 20,000 PHP ($450), which will be used to purchase food and drinks for the mini restaurant. This loan will be the fifth loan taken out by Uldarico from GDMPC. He plans to use the additional revenue generated as a result of this loan to improve and expand his business and to pay for his children's school tuition.
