Silverio, 43, is a single mother. She lives with her two children in her own house. She has been farming for three years. She has a small farm, which she gets to by a two day trip by boat on the river. This is where she plants three hectares of beans, five of papaya, and one of bananas. Silveria is very happy because the papayas produce every day while the beans and bananas are seasonal. She gets good income from her fruits.

What she likes most about her work is staying active, and it is profitable for her. Every time she goes to the farm she takes the opportunity to take second hand clothing with her. She buys it in the city and sells it to her farming neighbors. Sometimes she exchanges it for chickens or salted fish, which she sells when she returns home.

This is her fourth loan with MFP. What she likes about her communal bank is that all of the people are accomplished and hard-working. With the money she is now asking for she will hire people to expand and prepare her farm (five blocks) where she plants corn and yucca.
