Hands Of Friendship Group

Hands of Friendship is a group of 5 borrowers led by Massa Harleyson, who is 34 years old, married, and has two children ages 9 and 14, their educational levels 4th and 8th grade. She is a high school graduate but could not attend university due to lack of financial support. Massa and her family live in the Geebadu Quarter, a large Mandingo (a local tribe in Liberia) community in Voinjama, the capital of Lofa County in northern Liberia.

Massa’s business is selling used clothing. She buys used clothes wholesale and sells retail in the Voinjama main market, in the capital of Lofa County in northern Liberia. She has been running this business for 5 years and hopes to expand to a bigger shop.

Massa has been facing some financial constraints over the years with her business; therefore, she needs this loan in order to purchase more wholesale used clothing to improve her business. She talks to her customers in a good manner in order to encourage them to continue buying from her. The business is her only means of income. She dreams of giving her children a better education and building a house of their own.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
