The Las Dinámicas Communal Bank was founded on September 15th, 2009, with ten members who live in the San Antonio neighborhood. The women’s main activities are selling food, selling clothes, and selling cosmetics. They are currently in their sixth cycle. All of the members are accomplishes and united among themselves. One man is a member of the group.

Celia Cardozo is the founder of the communal bank. She is also the president. She formed the group with some friends because they needed a loan to help them increase their working capital. She is a hairdresser, and she also sells clothes and creams on credit to her customers. She is a single mother, and she decided to work and sell things to support her 14 year old son. She is very excited about the terms of the loan because she sees the possibilities of making her earnings grow and of saving.

Raquel Lopez is a very hard-working woman. She sells used clothes, shoes, and toys. She sells them at the fairs in different neighborhoods. She leaves to sell every day, and she only rests on Sundays. She and her husband, a bricklayer, do everything possible to give their family the best living conditions. Raquel wants to set up a stand to sell her merchandise and increase her working capital. She wants to do this to improve her income and her living conditions.

Bertha Amelunge sells food in her house in the evenings. She makes empanadas from rice and “cuñape” (a type of empanada) during the day to sell in the evening. She has two children who go to primary school. She is a very humble and hard-working woman. The loan from Emprender is to buy tables and chairs to sell food in the evenings. Also, she thinks that she will use the next loan to buy a larger oven to be able to sell more rice bread and “cuñape”. She is even thinking of making “salteñas” (meat empanadas) on Sundays to sell in the neighborhood.
