Aida is a member of the "Virgen del Rosario" communal bank which is in the Bellavista District, San Martin Department. She is 54 years old, married, and the mother of three children, one of whom is still dependent on her. She is a seamstress and sews dresses. She began with a loan of 200 new soles which she used to buy some fabric for her designs which, due to her fine craftsmanship, have established a steady clientele for her products. She is still involved in the same activity and offers her finished products to her customers, neighbors and friends as well as filling custom-made orders. With this new 3000 new soles loan she intends to purchase cotton fabric at wholesale, different colored thread, elastic, lace and other necessary raw materials to sew underwear in various sizes for women, men and children. She is the sole decision-maker with respect to her business earnings. She shares with us that today she feels she is a hard-working, enterprising woman who has set goals for herself such as setting up her own workshop in a well proportioned and equipped site. Aida tells us that Manuela Ramos allowed her to grow as an entrepreneur and as a woman and is grateful for the help.
