Armando Quefaz

Born in Zavala, district of Inhambane in the province of the same name, 46 year-old Armando Quefaz is married and the father of four children ages 27, 25, 12 and 10. His studies were interrupted in 8th Grade, when he had to fulfill his military service duties.

He lives with his family at a rental house in Boane, and also supports his mother, who lives in Zavala, by regularly sending her money and groceries.

He moved from Zavala to Boane with his family as a child, when his parents were looking for work and a better life. He has owned a grocery store for 18 years, and currently has three people working for him. His bestselling items are beer, wine and soda. He's learned about the business with his late father. He currently makes 7.000.00 mt per month, and always manages to put some money into a savings account at BIM (Commercial Bank of Mozambique). His wife has her own business of selling used clothes.

He has had loans with SOCREMO in the past but stopped being a client a while back, for personal reasons. He learned about Hluvuku through a friend and this is the third time he's applying for a loan. He will use the 20.000.00mt to buy more beverages to sell. His previous loans were in the amount of 8.500.00mt and 13.000.00mt and also used to increase his stock.

He expects to pay off his loan without a problem and plans to apply for more credit in the future, to start a poultry business.

Armando Quefaz nasceu em Zavala, Distrito de Inhambane, província de mesmo nome e tem 46 anos de idade, casado e pai de 4 filhos de 27, 25, 12 e 10 anos de idade. Fés 8ª classe e não foi possível continuar com os estudos porque foi solicitado a cumprir o serviço militar obrigatório.
Vive na casa de aluguer com a sua família e sustenta a sua mãe em Zavala, enviando dinheiro e produtos alimentares.

Saiu de Zavala ainda criança com seus pais para o distrito de Boane, a procura de emprego e melhores condições de vida. Actualmente é dono de seu negócio a mais de 18 anos e conta com 3 trabalhadores. O produto que mais vende é a Cerveja, refrescos e vinhos. Aprendeu esta actividade através de seu falecido pai desde 1981.

Nesta actividade consegue render aproximadamente a 7.000.00mt e sempre poupa algum no Banco Comercial BIM. A esposa também é comerciante, vende roupa usada.

Teve alguns empréstimos com uma sociedade de crédito (SOCREMO), parou de levantar o crédito devido a várias razoes. Conheceu a Hluvuku através de uma amiga que também é cliente da instituição e este é seu 3º empréstimo no valor de 20.000.00mt com o qual pretende comprar mais cervejas, refrescos, vinho e outros. Os anteriores empréstimos foram de 8.500.00mt e 13.000.00mt, todos para a mesma actividade.
