One fine day Miriam Mejia saw that they were going to begin a big construction work close to her house; a huge building site that involved the construction of a thousand houses. She thought that many people would be working at this place for a while, and so, encouraged by a friend, it occurred to her to sell food to the workers at this building site. She was sure that the workers would be looking for a place to eat, as there were no restaurants in that area. So, without any time to lose, she applied for the necessary permits and offered her services, requesting authorisation from the construction company.

She began by selling breakfast and lunch to the workers. It was difficult at first as only five people purchased food from her, and many times she was left with food that she didn't sell, but thanks to her patience, kind ways and charisma she managed to obtain more clients, and she now currently attends to fifty customers who enjoy her flavour and her warmth.

Miriam knows that this construction work will finish soon and because of this she hopes to put up a stall selling food in her local market. It is with much happiness that she tells us that she has already found the location. She tells us that she is already saving because she still has to buy a freezer and also fit out the space with all the necessary items.

She knows that she has the support of her family, especially her husband who supports her in everything. He is currently arranging to retire and as it is a long process he is working with her. Both of them are dedicated to the business, they want to achieve big things such as opening their own restaurant - Miriam is so sure of achieving her goal that she has already chosen the name that she will call her business: "La Ramadita". As well as this she is also helping out with a small photocopying business and types in her own home.

The loan from EDAPROSPO will help her a lot as she will invest in crockery and utensils to improve her kitchen and offer a great service to her future clients.
