This community is a mountainous area close to the northern border of our country. The main economic activities are livestock and agriculture, specifically sowing of basic grains, sugar canes, and oranges.

Since he was very young Don Pedro has been a livestock farmer, specializing in fattening livestock as a way of generating income for his family. He says he is pleased because this project has enabled him to get ahead.

Don Pedro requests a micro credit of 685,000 colones to buy more cows and thus increase the production. He is aware that having more cows represents more sacrifice and work, but he says that it will strengthen his project and he will become a successful micro-businessman.

Don Pedro is a member of the "Empresa de Crédito Comunal Manantial de Santa Fe", one of 100 organizations partners of EDESA in Costa Rica. This is his first loan and it will enable him to grow on a personal and economic level. He also points out that thanks to this kind of organizations and means to facilitate loans he can spend more time on productive activities.
