Danilo Godinez Azofeifa

As you may remember, you helped fund a loan on Kiva earlier this year to Danilo Godinez Azofeifa which he requested to purchase a cow. He received 300000 colones last month to facilitate this, helping to grow his farm and increase his families household income. Yesterday, we got the chance to check in with Danilo and see how his farm is going. He talked to us about his most recent loan with FUDECOSUR and reported that things are going smoothly. Southern Costa Rica is receiving a healthy rainy season unlike his fellow Ticos (Costa Ricans) to the North. This is helping his pasture and small coffee farm thrive. As well, his wife’s general store is growing with the help of a good coffee harvest due to increasing demand from her customers who are primarily coffee farmers.

Danilo primarly buys and sells cattle and has increased his herd in recent years, aided in part by credit provided from FUDECOSUR. Danilo is also the treasurer of the FUDECOSUR credit committee in San Agustin and really likes the respect that comes with the position.
