Bethleem Plus Group

Marcelin has been a small business owner since 2003. He is the leader of the village bank "Bethleem Plus", a group of 25 members who are jointly liable for the loans that lenders worldwide grant them through Kiva and microfinance institution HOPE DRC.

Marcelin's business consists in renting chairs at the central market in Kinshasa. He is a regular client who got seven loans and repaid all his installments on schedule. He will use his next loan to buy more chairs to meet the demand of his customers and increase his working capital. His ambition is to open a henhouse to produce and sell eggs, thus diversifying his business and increasing his income. Marcelin is aged 47, married and the father of three children aged 10 to 15. They all attend school.

Marcelin est micro entrepreneur depuis 2003. Il est dirigeant d’une banque communautaire dénommée « Bethleem Plus » composée de 25 membres solidairement unis pour recevoir des crédits des prêteurs du monde à travers Kiva et l’IMF HOPE RDC. Son activité consiste à faire louer des chaises au marché central de Kinshasa. Il est client fidèle qui a reçu 7 fois les prêts de l’IMF HOPE RDC et les a remboursés totalement à temps. Le prochain crédit lui servira d’acheter d’autres chaises à faire louer pour satisfaire le besoin de ses clients et augmenter son capital. Son ambition est d’ouvrir un poulailler en vue produire et vendre des œufs et surtout le souci de diversifier son affaire dans le but d’accroitre le bénéfice. Marcelin est âgé de 47 ans, marié et père de 3 enfants âgés de 10 à 15 ans. Tous vont à l’école.
