Navy Thavry, 36, is married and resides with her three young children and her husband in the Takeo province. She is a professional decorator of handicrafts. Since 1996, she has been using beads and other materials to make flowers on women's clothes to earn a living, typically making US$2.5 each day. She decorates a kind of Khmer traditional dress and people wear it during Water Festival, P’chum Ben or Khmer New Year. It takes around 7-10 days to complete each dress and the price is expensive too. Most of the people prefer handmade than machine made.
