The Committee Santa Librada was formed on February 18th, 2009, in the Neighbhorhood Santa Librada in Yaguarón City. This commitee was started by Rosa Sosa. Rosa attended a Training Program for Women Entrepreneurs and was very impressed with the idea of a Committee. She got 16 women together who were comfortable with Fundacion Paraguay and with Kiva.
The group is already in their 3rd cycle of the program and the credit they took was 650,000 PYG. The credit is intended for different activities such as grocery items (rice, sugar, baked goods, milk, etc.), selling clothes, lingerie, ice cream, beverages, and others. All committee members attend weekly meetings and work together to achieve their objectives. They are a very active and supportive group who perform well and demonstrate excellent partnership. Moreover, they have formed friendships in between, and their group promotes accountability and camaraderie within the committee.
