Betty Semilla

Betty Semilla is from the village of Rizal, Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. She is 50 years old. Betty is married and has four adult-aged children. To make a living, Betty owns and operates a business venture in the agriculture sector raising crops. The main source of income for the business comes from buying and selling vegetables in the local community. Betty has been engaged in her business for over 10 years and earns approximately 5,000 Philippine pesos a month for these activities.

In 2009, Betty joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Betty has successfully repaid a previous loan of 5,000 PHP from GDMPC. This previous loan was used as additional capital for selling vegetables. Betty is requesting a new loan of 5,000 PHP, which will be used to invest in expanding the business. This will be the second loan taken out by Betty from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement the family's income.
