Norma Osal

Norma Osal is an independent woman who is 56 years old. She lost her husband a long time ago and all of her children are working in Manila and have their own families now.

Aside from her intention of having the opportunity to obtain a loan to be able to put up a business, Norma joined ASHI in 2008 because she wanted to meet a lot of people, make friends, and be able to belong to the association of women that has a common goal in life, which is to rise above poverty. Her capacity and courage in running a business all by herself was inspired by her fellow women in ASHI.

After having started her small business through a loan she had requested, now Norma is requesting a much larger loan which will enable her to grow her motorcycle-for-hire business. With the amount she is requesting she plans to purchase a sidecar to be attached to her motorcycle to make it a tricycle-for-hire business.

For Norma, her business is her life, and the loan she obtains is her source of life. This has been her support to be able to buy her food and live independently. She wants her children not to be bothered about her and she wants to live her live productively by helping her children and grandchildren someday.
