Otgonbayar Altangerel

Altangerel Otgonbayar is 30 years old and lives with her husband and two children in Zavkhan province in western Mongolia. Her son and daughter both attend a local secondary school, and her husband is a taxi driver. They all live together in a ger, a traditional Mongolian housing tent. Otgonbayar operates a small grocery trading business in her town. Currently, due to a lack of having an adequate selling location and place to store her products, she only operates her business during the summer. Otgonbayar started her grocery trading business in 1999 when she began growing and selling her own vegetables. For the future, she plans to rent a stall in a large market where she can sell year round. She is focused on growing her business, and says, "I want to buy 2 more hectares of land to grow more vegetables". She is requesting a 1,000,000 tugrug (~700 USD) loan to purchase vegetables to sell this winter.
