The village bank loan group that consists of 11 people is located in Angk village in Kandal province. Mrs. Sok Houn Hok is the village bank president who has been selected by the members. She owns a two-hectare field to cultivate rice to earn a living. On the plantation, she has a problem because her field has infertile soil so she decided to ask for a loan to buy more fertilizer to support the field to make her crop more productive. Her husband, Mr. Nguon Sbai, is a farmer. Mrs. Sok Houn Hok is 35 years old and the mother of four children, three of whom are attending the local school while the youngest one just four years old.

One member in this village bank loan has an end-of-term loan and the rest have monthly payment loans. This member is not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
