Oyuntsetseg Algaa

Algaa Oyuntsetseg is 44 years old and lives with her husband and two children in Arkhangai province in central Mongolia. She and her family live in a ger, a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent. Her youngest daughter currently attends high school. Oyuntsetseg operates a wooden product making business in her town. The business is very family oriented, as her husband designs and produces their products while Oyuntsetseg paints and decorates them. Their oldest daughter also helps with the business in her free time. Oyuntsetseg started her wood products business in 1999 with capital of 50,000 tugrugs (~35 USD). The business has been successful and they have grown a stable operation. Today, her working capital exceeds 1,200,000 tugrugs (~840 USD) Using her savings, she was recently able to build a house for her oldest daughter. Oyuntetseg attributes her success to the quality of her products, which is much desired by her customers. She is requesting a 1,200,000 tugrug (~840 USD) loan to purchase more wood and paints for their wooden products business.
