The Community Group, 'Mujeres con Visión' ('Women with Vision') is located in the city of Cuenca, in the south of the country. It has a cold climate and houses many natural and architectural tourist attractions which makes it a beautiful city. The people are very warm and friendly.

This group is made up of women who live in different parts of the Cuencan city; they are very united women who try to do the best they can for themselves and their families - as they are the main source of income in their homes - each day.

Patricia Leonor Pozo Vidal is a very charismatic member of the community group 'Mujeres con Visión'. She lives in the centre of the city of Cuenca, in the Pampas del Cebollar sector. She is 42 years old and is married with three sons who are 21, 18 and 14 years old. Her first son studies in the Instituto Misael Acosta, her second son studies at the University of Cuenca, and her last son is still at the Técnico Salesiano school. Her husband works as a salesman, and it is through his hard work that they were able to build their own house.

Patricia has had a hardware store for four years, and has had good days and bad days, but she tells us that one must always have faith in God and try to move forward, hoping to overcome your problems each day.

She has a very good relationship with all her colleagues in the community group who make up a large working team. She has been working with the group for a year and a half and tells us that the credits she has received allowed her to buy merchandise for her business. With the loan that Fundacion Espoir gave her she is going to invest in buying building finishes and other materials that she needs to increase the stock of her hardware store and offer better products to her clients.

Her biggest dream is to travel and go to the beautiful Galapagos islands.

Blanca Azucena Landi Peralta is another active member of the community group 'Mujeres con Visión'. She lives in the centre of the city of Cuenca, in the Otorongo sector. She is 29 years old and is married with 2 kids who are 6 and 4 years old. Her eldest daughter is studying in the Luisa de Jesus school. Her husband works as a warehouseman for a private company and the couple have a good relationship and share household responsibilities. They do not yet have their own house.

Blanca has had a small grocery store for four years, and she tells us that it is going well and that at least she has enough to pay the household bills and a small percentage to expand her business.

All the members of the community group get on well with each other. Blanca has worked with the foundation for four years and the credits she has been given have helped her expand her business. With the new loan that Fundacion Espoir gave her she will stock her business with products in order to always have enough groceries in the store.

Her dream is to be able to build her own house.
