Thaiy Nhor, age 33, lives in a medium wooden house where she braids silk skirt for sale. Thaiy Nhor was married, but her husband died of senility years ago. She has two children; one of whom assists her with weaving silk, while the other one is married and lives separately. Thaiy Nhor has been a silk weaver for 19 years, a skill she learned from her grandmother. She sells her finished product to a middleman, who then takes it to re sell at the market in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. She has also been hired by the villagers to spin silk where she can earn extra income. Recently, a part of the raw material has been ran out from stock supply; Thaiy Nhor wants to resupply and is requesting a loan from HKL to purchase more silk to continue weaving.
