Mujeres De Chilcato Tora (cuenca) Group

The Chilcato Tora Communal Bank is located in the Tarquí parish 30 minutes outside of the city of Cuenca. Tarquí is characterized by its plains, and it is the sector that produces the most milk and dairy livestock. Its climate is cold. Most of the people work in agriculture and livestock. A large part of the population of youths has immigrated to different parts of the world to give their families economic stability. The members, with their characteristic charisma, tell us their stories.

Delia Eudocial Vele Vele lives in the Chilcato Tora community in the Tarquí parish. She is a member of the communal bank with the same name as her community. She is 55, married, and has seven children. She does not remember their ages because they are all adults and married. She only remembers that her last daughter is 27, and she is the only one that is single. Three of her married children live in her house and help economically once in a while. They have their own responsibilities in the home. Her husband is a farmer, and through his work in his youth they were able to build a house.

Delia has been a farmer ever since she was young. She plants cabbage, lettuce, and turnips, etc. She raises hens and sells their eggs. She has two calves, and she is raising them to later sell. She also has a small store, but she is lacking a lot of supplies.

Within the communal bank the members are very good friends. They are from the same community, and they have known each other for several years. This is her first loan with the foundation. She will buy products like rice, sugar, oil, and noodles, etc. to better stock her store.

Her dream is to have no more debts. She is now helping her son who traveled abroad to pay the expenses he incurred on his trip.

María Tránsito Puchi Criollo is another member of the Mujeres de Chilcato Tora Communal Bank. She lives in the community that has the same name as her bank in the Tarquí parish. She is 65, married, and has five children. She does not remember the ages of her children. She only remembers the age of her last child who is 25, single, and still lives with her. Her husband does not work because he became allergic to the cement dust. This stopped him from doing his work. She and her husband built a small adobe house. Their economic situation is down, and all of the community knows it. Also, she was diagnosed with diabetes five years ago. Now she has to take very good care of herself to not have a relapse in her health.

María has been raising chickens for a short time. She also has a cow, and she sells her milk to the milk carts in the area. But, they pay very little. This is her first loan with the foundation. All of her friends supported her joining, and she tries to get ahead with the benefits the foundation offers their members. With this loan from ESPOIR she will buy more chickens, food, and vitamins for their growth. This way she will expand her business and have a secure income to pay the medication and household expenses. Her dream is to see all of her children succeed personally and economically.

Teresa Elvira Chacha Chuba lives in the Chilcato Tora community in the Tarquí parish. She is a member of the communal bank with the same name as her community. She is 47, married, and has six children; ages 24, 22, 20, 14, 11, and 9. Her first daughter is studying dressmaking at an open academy. Her second daughter is married and lives independently. Her 20 year old son works in construction, but all of the money is only for his expenses. Her last three children are still in school. Her husband migrated to the exterior to give them a better future. Thanks to that, they have been able to build their own house.

Terese is a farmer; most of her crops are for household consumption. She also raises animals like dairy cows, pigs, and chickens, etc. She sells them in the community.

This is her first loan with the foundation. She hopes to improve her economic situation and that of her family. With the loan from the ESPOIR Foundation she will buy more animals like chickens and pigs, food, and vitamins to take care of them.

Her goal is to have a large farm and to be a great animal merchant.

El Banco Comunal Mujeres de Chilcato Tora se encuentra ubicado en la parroquia Tarquí a unos 30 minutos a las afueras de la ciudad de Cuenca, Tarquí se caracteriza por sus llanuras siendo el sector más productivo de leche y ganado vacuno, su clima es frió y la mayoría de su gente se dedica a la agricultura y ganadería, la mayor parte de la población joven han emigrado a diferentes partes del mundo para darles a sus familias estabilidad económica. Sus socias con el carisma que les caracteriza nos brindan sus historias.

La señora Delia Eudocia Vele Vele vive en la comunidad de Chilcato Tora en la parroquia Tarquí, es socia del Banco Comunal del nombre de su comunidad, ella tiene 55 años de edad, se encuentra casada, concibió siete hijos de los cuales no recuerda las edades ya que todos son mayores de edad y casados, sólo se acuerda de su última hija de 27 años que es la única soltera, tres de sus hijos casados viven en su casa y le ayudan económicamente de vez en cuando porque tienen sus propias responsabilidades en su hogar, su esposo es agricultor y con el trabajo en su juventud lograron construir su casa.

Delia se dedica a la agricultura desde que tiene uso de razón, siembra coles, lechugas, nabos, etc., cría gallinas y vende sus huevos, tiene dos terneritos los está criando para luego venderlos, también tiene una tienda pequeña pero aun le hace falta muchos víveres.

Dentro de su banco comunal todas las socias son muy buenas amigas a mas de ser de la misma comunidad se conocen desde hace varios años. Este es su primer crédito en la fundación y lo va a invertir en la compra de productos como arroz, azúcar, aceite, fideosm, etc. para surtir su tienda.

Su sueño es ya no tener más deudas pues hasta la fecha está ayudando a su hijo que viajo al extranjero a pagar los gastos incurridos para su viaje.

La señora María Tránsito Puchi Criollo es otra socia del Banco Comunal Mujeres de Chilcato Tora, vive en la comunidad del mismo nombre de su banco comunal en la parroquia Tarquí, tiene 65 años de edad, se encuentra casada y fruto de su amor procreó cinco hijos, no recuerda las edades de sus hijos, solo de su último hijo que tiene 25 años es soltero y aún vive con ella, su esposo no trabaja porque le dio alergia al polvo de cemento impidiéndole realizar sus actividades laborales, ella con su cónyuge lograron construir una casita pequeña de adobe, su situación económica es baja y toda la comunidad lo sabe, también le detectaron diabetes hace cinco años y ahora debe cuidarse mucho para no tener una recaída en su salud.

María se dedica a la cría de pollos hace poco tiempo, también tiene una vaca su leche vende a los carros lecheros del sector pero le pagan muy barato, nos manifiesta que es su primer crédito en la fundación y todas sus amigas le apoyaron para que ingrese y trate de salir adelante con los beneficios que otorga la Fundación a sus socias, con el préstamo que ESPOIR le entregue va a invertir en su criadero comprando mas pollos, alimento y vitaminas para su crecimiento de esta manera incrementar su negocio y tener un ingreso seguro para solventar sus gastos de medicinas y del hogar.

Su sueño es ver que todos sus hijos se superen personal y económicamente.

La señora Teresa Elvira Chacha Chuba vive en la comunidad de Chilcato Tora, en la parroquia Tarquí, es socia del Banco Comunal del mismo nombre de su comunidad, tiene 47 años de edad, casada y concibió seis hijos de:24, 22, 20, 14, 11, 9 años de edad, su primera hija estudia corte y confección en una academia a distancia, la segunda hija ya es casada y vive independiente, su hijo de 20 años trabaja en la construcción pero todo el dinero es solo para sus gastos, mientras que sus tres últimos hijos aún son estudiantes de escuela y colegio. Su esposo migró al exterior para darles un futuro mejor y gracias a ello han logrado construir su casa propia.

Teresa se dedica a la agricultura y es más para el consumo de su hogar, también a la crianza de animales, vacas lecheras, chanchos, pollos, etc, que los vende en la comunidad,

Este es su primer crédito en la fundación y su expectativa es mejorar su situación económica y la de su familia, con el préstamo que la FUNDACION ESPOIR le entregue va a invertir en la compra de más animales como: pollos y chanchos, comida y vitaminas para su crianza.

Su meta es llegar a tener un gran criadero y ser una gran comerciante de animales.
