Leyli Khachatryan

Leyli Khachatryan lives in Ijevan. She is a widow and has two daughters. One of the daughters is married and lives separately, and the other one lives with Leyli. Since 2003, Leyli has operated a food store in a place her brothers owns in the central street of Ijevan. Previously, she had worked in the Ijevan food-processing factory, until it was closed, along with most of Armenian factories. With the profits from her business, Leyli provided for some of her family’s needs, such as buying necessary furniture and home appliances and organizing her elder daughter’s wedding. Leyli likes her work and, most of all, appreciates that she can help pensioners by taking them home and helping to carry their purchases. Leyli is a fifth cycle borrower in Nor Horizon, and now she needs 600,000 AMD to buy sugar, sunflower-seed oil and tomato sauce for her shop. In the future she hopes to increase her income in order to collect enough money to repair her apartment.
