Jesus Nuestra Esperanza Group

Maria is the group coordinator of the Banco de Esperanza (Bank of Hope) Jesus Nuestra Esperanza (Jesus our Hope). Her story is representative of both her group and Esperanza's Haitian (many of whom recently emigrated from Haiti to the DR) and Dominican clients generally. Their group is based in Puerto Plata, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic in an area where they do not have running water.

This is Maria's second loan with Esperanza and she will be using it to buy more fruit for her stand, which she hopes to grow to a larger, more stable business with a bigger client base and more products.

With the profits from her business, Maria would like to buy some new clothes as well as continue investing in her business.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
