Sembrando Esperanza Group

Santarosa Paulina Julca Aranda, (sitting in this photograph), is 35 years old. She is a very humble and hard-working person, just like her 8 fellow team mates who make up the group "Sembrando Esperanza" ("Sowing Hope") and live in the Carabayllo district.

For the past 13 years, Mrs. Paulina has worked selling chocho a food typical of the mountain region of Peru. Every day, since very early, she goes out on the streets with her buckets of food and heads for the markets and places with high influx of people to offer them "ceviche de chocho".

With her work she covers all her household expenses, supporting her two small children. She gives them what they need since she cannot offer them much more. In spite of her hard work, she does not make much money and the little she makes she has saved to acquire a small plot of land, where she has made a small wooden house, as she calls her "chocita".

She would like very much to make the money necessary to fix her house, and to make her children more comfortable because they are in need because of the cold season and their lack of appropriate clothing.

The loan requested will be invested in buying ingredients to make the "ceviche de chocho" and to sell chicha de jora (a maize-based drink).

SANTOSA PAULINA JULCA ARANDA, (la ubicaremos entada en la fotografía), tiene 35 años de edad, es una persona muy humilde y trabajadora al igual que sus 8 compañeros que integran el grupo “Sembrando Esperanza” quienes residen en el distrito de Carabayllo.

La Sra. Paulina, hace 13 años, se dedica la venta de chocho, que es una comida típica de la Sierra del Perú, todos los días desde muy temprano sale a las calles con sus baldes de comida y se dirige a los mercados y lugares con afluencia de público para ofrecer el “ceviche de chocho”

Con su trabajo, cubre todos los gastos de su casa, puede mantener a sus dos pequeños hijos, les da lo necesario pues no puede ofrecerles mucho ya que por mas que trabaja no es mucho lo que gana, lo poco que puede ganar en sus ventas lo ahorró y pudo adquirir un pequeño terreno, donde ha podido levantar una casita de madera, como ella llama su chocita.

Le gustaría mucho, ganar lo necesario para poder arreglar su casa, darles más comodidades a sus hijos, ahora pasan muchas necesidades por la época del frío ellos no tienen una vestimenta apropiada.

El préstamo solicitado lo invertirá en comprar insumos para la elaboración del “ceviche de chocho” y para la venta de chicha de jora.
