Successful Women Group

Successful Women is a group of five borrowers led by Sarah Monger, 32 years old, a single mother with two children aged 1 and 10 years old, with the oldest child's educational level at 5th grade. She also cares for a sibling.

Sara is a schoolteacher by profession but decided to get into business in order to support herself and her children financially.
She lives in Virginia, a community that is mixed with both poor and middle-class Liberians. It is in the northern part of Monrovia, the capital.

Sarah's business is hairdressing. She has a very small salon in Virginia where she does hairdressing for the residents of that community. She has been running this business for more than three years and is doing well. Because Sarah gives the residents of Virginia good service, and also has a good relationship with her customers, they always want to have their hair fixed in her salon.

Sara dreams of establishing a bigger salon in the future which will enable her to build a house for herself and the children. She needs this loan in order to purchase more hair products and salon materials.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
