Ezekiel Group

Kofi is 40years old he is married and father of five children. All his children are in school in the community where they live. He is a steel binder and iron rods seller. He takes delivery of stock from Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana. He binds the steel and sells to contractors as a building material. He complains that the cost of the iron rods is on the higher side and demand for a loan assistance to enable him purchased them in bulk.

He is the leader of a small trust bank group called ‘Ezekiel’. He is the one sitting in the group photograph. Members of this group are petty traders, food vendors and metal worker etc. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to access the loan and peer pressure to repay the loan.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
