Bazarsad Munkh

Bazarsad is 66 years old and lives with her grandson in the Uvurkhangai province in central Mongolia. The two of them live in a ger, a traditional Mongolian tent home, in the capital city of the ancient Mongolian empire of Khar-khorin. Her grandson currently attends the Technology and Science University of Mongolia.

Bazarsad owns and operates a small store in her town selling a variety of grocery and consumer products. Her grandson helps out at the store by selling ice cream, which is a very popular item during the hot Mongolian summers.

Bazarsad started her shop in 2003 after retiring from her career as an obstetrician at the local hospital. With the addition of the ice-cream sales, she has been able to grow her business quickly and has slowly increased the variety of products she sells. She attributes her success to her good personality and customer-service practices that make her business popular in her community.

For the future, Bazarsad hopes to continue to expand her business. Her wish is that she can continue to support her grandson so that he can graduate and find a decent job. She is requesting a 1,200,000 tugrug loan to purchase more groceries and ice cream for her store.
