Gorgonia Suarez

This is Gorgonia Suarez, who is 57 years old. She lives in Silang, Cavite, and has six children, one of whom is in college. The rest of her children live at home. She is married to a preacher.

Gorgonia owns a general store situated in front of their house. It has been in operation for eight years now. She laments that competition within is stiff considering that three other stores are located in her immediate area. But she is thankful that customers are still loyal to her because her store sells more items than others. Thanks to the loans provided by the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) Credit Cooperative, her store grew steadily.

She is now on her 4th loan cycle. She will use the funds to buy more items to sell at her store like charcoal (for fuel), and rice.

Gorgonia hopes to see her children finish their college education.
