Enriqueta is a very hardworking woman, she is 42 and lives with her partner and father of his 4 children in a house they own. She has seasonal land (depending on rain) that are suitable for cultivating potatoes and other root vegetables, she would also like to produce peas, but the cold weather is not good for this product. Enriqueta is pleased because the potatoes and other root vegetables are profitable because in a few occasions she has been able to sell them at $120 “soles” per sac. She indicates that “it’s a matter of luck”, because prices vary from one moment to the next. In addition, she occasionally works with her husband in their neighboors’ land, where she gets paid $15 “soles” and he gets paid $18 “soles”, these are additional earnings that are useful to cover their everyday needs.
This is the 8th loan with MFP and she is very thankful because these loans have allowed her to increase production and that’s why she keeps attending the community bank meetings.
The money requested will be invested in buying chemical fertilizer for the potatoes.
